Naknek River - Katmai Trophy Lodge 2026

Join guide / casting instructor Jeff Liskay, along with Tim Arsenault of Bridge in pursuit of Steelhead sized Rainbow Trout in Bristol Bay this Fall. The Naknek offers unparalleled opportunity to catch some of the worlds largest Rainbows using two handed rods and the swung fly, taking conventional ideas about trout spey to the farthest extreme imaginable. In this environment where Rainbows crest the 30 inch mark , 7 and 8 weight two handed rods take the place of the usual 3 through 5 weight rods typical of most trout spey fisheries.

Our base, Katmai Trophy Lodge is perfectly situated along the banks of the mighty Naknek river to provide fast access to the best riffles, runs, and pools every morning when leaving the dock. Along with casting and stepping down the massive runs of the Naknek, the lodge’s fleet of jet boats are specifically outfitted to allow spey casting from the boat, putting all available holding water in play to the angler. A combination of both styles of fishing maximize the odds of locating one of the Naknek’s true monster Rainbows.
